SAP Basis Consultant:
Duration : 6 months


As primary Basis contact, this position will act as the liaison between project teams and the Basis team. This role will be responsible for both coordinating as well as participating in the execution of tasks which include (but are not limited to):

• Ownership of all issues, coordinating with different teams to resolve in a timely manner
• Escalation of issues & identification of risks.
• Performing fresh installs of SAP and related 3rd-party software
• Installing Enhancement Packs/Support Packs/Kernel Upgrades as required by customer
• Support all phases of testing, e.g. system, performance, ORT, DR, UAT, mock cutovers, etc
• Support during technical cutovers and code promotion.
• System refreshes for Mock cutovers
• Developing downtime minimized approaches for technical cutovers.
• SAP integration with other systems
• Establish and maintain Backup/Recovery requirements
• Problem resolution during development, rollout and production cutover support.
• Utilizing Change Management to make changes.
• Proof of concepts for customers

Must have significant experience in ECC 6.0, and at least 2 or more of the following SAP components: CRM 2007, SCM 4.1/ICH 5.0, SRM 4.0, XI/PI 7.1, BI 7.0, EP 7.0, CE 7.1, NetWeaver 2004S, SolMan, CUA. This role will be primarily for the project landscape, but will also be responsible for working with the production support team on Environment Migration activities as needed.

This position will be responsible for working with Infrastructure project managers to develop cutover plans that include downtime-minimized approaches. The position will interface heavily with other IT Infrastructure teams such as hardware, security, network and database support for planning and troubleshooting. The position will also interface heavily with process and application teams, such as cutover, development, application support and other functional teams.

Strong, clear communication skills are a must. This person must be a team player with strong leadership and organizational skill and must have hands-on experience as an SAP Basis Consultant.

- Able to work off hours, including weekends and evenings as required.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT; Minimum of 5 years of hands-on SAP Basis experience.
- Familiarity with transports and the SAP methodology for migrations is required.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the SAP system and required bolt-on solutions.
- Must be knowledgeable on middleware integration, configuration, administration, and SAP add-on software such as archiving, faxing, imaging, and workflow Performance Monitoring.
