Sr. Embedded Software Engineer to develop new software and technologies for leading-edge energy management systems. This includes architecting software, authoring and reviewing technical documentation, integrating and testing software and operating test equipment. The individual must be able to contribute both as an individual and as a member of a small team and be capable of working directly with our domestic and international partner teams and solution vendors to support the design, development, integration and troubleshooting of new software features.

Critical Tasks:
Design, develop and debug embedded software in Linux environment for residential energy management networking applications.
Features to be implemented include: residential network system and related drivers incorporating Ethernet, ZigBee and Wi-Fi communications protocols; security protocols; extensions to ZigBee Smart Energy profile as needed to support application requirements; mesh protocol architecture and design.

Integration of SW into target platform environment, testing and troubleshooting.

Required Skills & Experience:
MSEE or equivalent with minimum of 5 years experience in embedded S/W development with networking
Excellent understanding of software development in a Linux embedded environment.
Strong C /C++ coding skills
Experience with low-layer wireless networking SW (e.g. ZigBee / Wi-Fi)
Experience with data and networking security (e.g. AES encryption, ECC encryption, key management)
Must have experience with Linux embedded development tools (at least one of: Eclipse, IAR)
Experience with compilers (e.g. GCC), debuggers (e.g. GDB), bug-tracking (e.g. Bugzilla or Rundup) and source code management tools (e.g. subversion) required
Familiarity with embedded HTTP server in Linux environment (e.g. Apache)
Strong communications skills (verbal and written)

Desired Skills & Experience:
Familiarity with ZigBee Smart-Energy protocols
