Duration : 6-12 Months+

Rate : $50/hr C2C Max

Note : The do prefer candidates local to Houston or at least local to Texas.
They typically do a phone interview first and then a face to face.

This position is part of the Operations Services group reporting into the IT
Infrastructure Operations department. The primary role of this position is
to develop monitoring configuration solutions as requested by internal IT
customers which enables IT support organizations to monitor the enterprise
infrastructure of servers, network devices, and mission/business critical
applications. Other responsibilities include automation tasks, integrating
infrastructure applications, and developing SSRS 2008 reporting solutions
for internal IT customers.

Experience:

Senior Level 6-9 years

Responsibilities include:

Transform IT customer monitoring requirements into implemented monitoring
configuration solutions as requested for servers (physical and virtual),
network devices, and mission/business critical applications using Microsoft
System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2, Microsoft System Center
Configuration Manager R2,(SCCM), Desired Configuration Management (DCM),
Solarwinds Orion Network Performance Monitor (NPM) and Network Configuration
Manager (NCM) monitoring products

•Configure, implement, and support System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2
including sealed and custom management packs, creation of monitoring rule,
synthetic transactions, overrides, discoveries, custom automated tasks, and
notifications.

•Configure, implement and support Microsoft System Center Configuration
Manager R2 including inventory and patch management, agent maintenance and
deployment and desired configuration management (DCM). Implement
integration with other System Center products. Other tasks include the
development of extensive reporting using both SSRS and the native reporting
platform.

•Configure, implement and support Solarwinds Orion v9.5 including automating
defined tasks and integration with additional monitoring products to provide
a complete network monitoring solution. Other tasks include adding/removing
network devices, creating polling policies and discovery groups,
administering website permission, designing web pages and maps using Orion
native features, and developing reports using both SSRS and the native Orion
reporting platform.

•Develop custom SSRS reporting and dashboard solutions for IT support
organizations to enhance troubleshooting, monitoring, and in-depth analysis
for Senior Management and subject matter experts.

•Query and data mine from databases including (but not limited to) SCOM,
SCCM and DCM, HP SIM, StealthAUDIT, Citrix, SharePoint, `BMC Remedy,
Solarwinds Orion, and various in-house developed databases.

•Integrate company monitoring applications and platforms to work together in
order to provide a single-source monitoring console via custom vbscript, SQL
Server Integrations Services, Powershell, native application tools, and 3rd
party connectors including Quest and Operations Manager 2007, BMC Remedy and
Operations Manager 2007, and Microsoft Exchange Email and Operations Manager
2007.

•Participate in on-call rotation and be available 24/7 while in the primary
on-call position

Must have required years of experience in the following areas:

•Microsoft technologies including Server 2000/2003/XP, SQL 2000/2005/2008,
IIS

•Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007, including architecture

•System Center Configuration Manager 2007

•VMware vSphere

•SCCM Desired Configuration Management

•Solarwinds Orion v9.5

•Solarwinds Orion Network Configuration Manager v5.5

•Sybase v9-v15

•Supporting applications on Citrix servers

•Extensive data mining in unfamiliar territory

•Mid- level knowledge of web services and web infrastructures

•Mid-level knowledge of network technologies including MPLS

•Scripting technologies including vbscript, visual basic .NET and Powershell

•Transact SQL Queries

•Business Intelligence Development Studio 2005/2008

•Microsoft SharePoint Services 2007

•SQL Reporting Services 2005/2008

•SQL Integration Services 2005/2008

•Database Development

Must demonstrate strong skills in the following areas:

•Detail and systematic thinking

The following skills and experience are a plus:

•Prior experience working for a global manufacturing company

•Multi-lingual

•Experience monitoring Storage Array Networks (SAN), Network Attached
Storage (NAS) devices

•Experience with UNIX/LINUX systems and how to incorporate the monitoring of
these systems with Systems Center Operations Manager 2007.
